The celebration of 60 years on earth is not just about age, but about grace and gratitude.

Alhaji Lateef Olayinka Lawal of the Sabitiyu Onibipe Lawal Family at Latona, Adesan in Mowe, Ogun State, marked his 60th birthday with a modest compound celebration dedicated to spiritual reflection, thanksgiving to Almighty Allah, and service to humanity.

The Diamond Jubilee celebration, held at the family compound in Latona, Adesan, Mowe, was graced by family members, relatives, community elders, friends and well-wishers who came in from Lagos and Ogun States. Many of those present said they chose to spend the Independence Day holiday celebrating a man of virtues.

Speaking at the occasion, Alhaji Lateef, full of gratitude to Almighty Allah, said attaining 60 years in good health is by the mercy of God alone.

“At 60, I have learnt that life is vanity without Allah. What will matter at the end is not how much we acquire, but how many lives we touch and how faithful we are to our Creator,” he said.

He used the occasion to call on Nigerians, especially the youth, to be God-fearing, upright and dedicated to serving humanity.

“If we all dedicate ourselves to God and commit to serving our communities with sincerity and honesty, our society will be better. We should live for each other.”

Alhaji Lateef appreciated the Lawal family, friends from Lagos who travelled down to Mowe, and all who honoured him with their presence and prayers.

The celebration featured special prayers for the celebrant and his family, for peace and progress in Mowe, Ogun State, and for unity and prosperity of Nigeria as the nation marked Independence Day.

Guests described Alhaji Lateef Olayinka Lawal as a humble, God-fearing, peace-loving family man who has used his life to uphold the good name of the Sabitiyu Onibipe Lawal Family and to support others.

Long life and prosperity to Alhaji Lateef!
