

The leadership of Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN) has been encouraged by His Excellency, President Bola Hammed Tinubu GCFR, to be completely focused on its strategic objective towards promotion of good understanding and cooperation amongst members nationwide. The union furthermore encourage to checkmate insecurity and curtail crime.









The Presidency, in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila expressed a profound appreciation towards the Union’s pledged to support the government in all ramifications.


In a letter made available to African Narrators, dated 11th of October, 2023, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila addressed a letter of response to the General Secretary of MOUN, Comrade Ade Ikuesan with the title:
“RE: REGISTRATION OF MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS UNION OF NIGERIA (MOUN) – AN INTRODUCTION.”
This letter was in response to the Union’s letter sent to the Presidency on 25th of September, 2023 to notify the office of the full legality of the Union to operate and as well contribute to national development.

MOUN as body received its labour union certificate from the Registrar of Trade Union, Mr. Amos Falonipe, on Monday 11th September, 2023 in Abuja.
The National President, Motorcycles Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), Comrade Julius Oghenevwegba Bobi, after receiving the certificate of registration alongside other executives, commended the federal government for registering the body and pledged selfless service and positive collaboration with the Labour movement.
The letter from the presidency reads in part:
“While your formal registration with the Registrar of the Trade Union (RTU) in the Ministry of Labor and Employment is a welcome development, you are advised not to loose focus in the strategic objective of your Union to promote understand and cooperation amongst members, as well as checkmate insecurity and curtail crime.
“Furthermore, your desire and commitment to support to support the government in all ramifications is very much appreciated.
“However, this can only be achieved if members conform to the tenets of the Union.
“Accept always, the esteemed regards of His Excellency, President Bola A. Tinubu GCFR”.
The Union National Secretary, Comrade Ade Ikuesan in response congratulate of Riders across the nation and reemphasize the commitment of the leadership to protect all the rights of every affiliate.
The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN) also held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday 18th of October at the Labour House Abuja with a huge turnout of members in attendance. Also the Registrar of Trade Unions and Deputy General Secretary of the NLC also present to observe.
The CWC has set aside 9th of November 2023 as the date for Special Delegate Congress.
