A leading Human Rights organization, Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA), with its headquarters in Lagos state, Nigeria has invited the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as a special guest to this year International Human Rights Day program.
The invitation letter sent to the governor among other invited dignitaries (amidst the controversial “Peace Walk” as proposed by the governor over the yet to be resolved #EndSARS issues), was signed by the group Executive Director, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak.
Also expected at the occasion is the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly among others which include professional bodies, media, students, market people, trade unions and diplomatic community.
African Narrators gathered that same invitation was extended to the office of the first lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, but turned down.
According to the invitation letter, the program comes up on Friday December 10 at the Central Operating office of HURMA in Somolu, Lagos. The program will feature series of activities which include Press briefing on current “State of the Nation”; Short Street Walk to a nearby public facility and as well street interview of few Nigerians to express their genuine minds on way forward.
