The Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA Global Resource Initiative) has called for a timely action of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, through the Coordinator of Lagos State Special Task Force on Land Grabbers, over the pending allegation on “Threat to Life and Malicious Damage” in the office.
Family members of Adesada Oganjugbe and acclaimed rightful owner of Otara land at Igboye Town under Eredo LCDA, Epe, Lagos State had contacted the office of the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda HURMA, with a “Save Our Soul” message over their recent experience which they claime include destruction of properties of family members and threat to life.
According to information sent to the Human Rights Monitors, one MR ABDUL RASAQ RAFIU aka OTTO and his Cohorts who are not members of Adesada Oganjugbe family are presently going about defrauding unsuspecting members of the public claiming they own landed properties in OTARA area of Igboye, Eredo LCDA, Epe Division, Lagos State.
“The Adesada Oganjugbe family of Igboye, Epe are acclaimed owner of OTARA land that falls in both Epe Local Government of Lagos State and Ijebu-Ode Local Government of Ogun State.
“one MR ABDUL RASAQ RAFIU aka OTTO and his Cohorts who are not members of Adesada Oganjugbe family are presently going about defrauding unsuspecting members of the public claiming they own landed properties in OTARA area of Igboye, Eredo LCDA, Epe Division, Lagos State.
“We have made several move to invite this land grabber for peaceful talk and as well to establish if he however relates with our family, but despite our invitation, he goes about using his networks to demolish people’s property and threatening lives.
“Matter already in Zone 2 and a member of his click presently sent to correctional center and others co-perpetrators still at large.
“The Lagos State Ministry of Justice has been petitioned to take charge through the Lagos State Special Task Force on Land Grabbers to curb his excesses and menace which he flaunt with impunity”.
The family alleged that some groups of people and corporate bodies are suspected to be conspiring with the suspect to rob the family of its property.
“We have sent a letter of warning to one RIDWAN OLAYIWOLA & CO PROPERTIES LIMITED and as well issue a public notice to the general public “

presented to the Rights Monitors through a human rights radio program was Investigated by the office.
On interview, the MD of the company denied involvement in any conspiracy whatsoever, but only patronized the accused by buying properties that he claims to have entitlement.
The Human Rights Monitors lead by the executive director visited the community on invitation via the SOS by community members. The group was well appreciated by Chiefs and elders of the village.
Among people that spoke with the Human Rights Monitors are Elder T.A Hassan; Mr. Adeshina Rasaki Odugbesan; Mrs. Nurati Ajayi; Alhaji Abd-Ganiyu Abd-Salam, the Chief Imam of Igboye and Odo Iyangunshi Central Mosque; Chief Sunday Adebowale, Balle of Tobalashe village and Mr. Idris Adebanjo Salami who is the secretary of Adesada Oganjugbe family.
The people pleaded for Government to provide all necessary safety provision for the protection of lives and properties of the family and entire people in the community.
It was alleged that the DPO in the area is a friend to the accused and has been using his office to support the ongoing oppression and injustice.
“Our community is gradually becoming restless. It was a peaceful environment until we see a bulldozer that entered our village and started destroying our properties with a complete backing by the Divisional Police Officer of the Community, despite knowing that the matter is in Zone 2.
We appeal to Government to please assist us”.
According to the family Secretary, a pre-action notice has been served on the Company involved and the accused himself has been served.
